西门子旗下照明巨头欧司朗本月6日在美国和德国起诉三星和LG，称这两家公司侵犯其发光二极管(LED )照明技术专利权。Osram, the lighting giant owned by Siemens, filed lawsuits against Samsung and LG in the United States and Germany on the 6th of this month, alleging infringement of its light-emitting diode (LED) lighting technology patents.
西门子在诉讼中称，三星和LG擅自使用了西门子将蓝光转化为白光的白光的LED专利技术，这一技术被普遍用于背光、纯平电视机以及普通家用LED灯泡的设计中。日前，西门子在德国已向德国汉堡地方法院提交了诉讼书。在美国，西门子向华盛顿的国际贸易委员会以及特拉华州的威尔明顿市地方法院提交了投诉。西门子提交给华盛顿国际贸易委员会的文件显示，三星被指控侵犯9项专利，LG被指控侵犯12项专利。Siemens alleged that Samsung and LG had used its patented white-LED technology for converting blue light into white light without permission. The technology is widely used in backlighting, flat-screen televisions and ordinary household LED bulbs. Siemens recently filed its German lawsuit with the Hamburg Regional Court. In the United States, it filed complaints with the International Trade Commission in Washington and the district court in Wilmington, Delaware. Documents submitted to the ITC accused Samsung of infringing nine patents and LG of infringing twelve.
有消息称，西门子表示计划在东京和中国对LG电子提起类似诉讼。西门子中国方面昨日对南都记者表示，我们已就此事向中国法院提起诉讼，希望在未来一年内取得成效。Reports said Siemens planned similar proceedings against LG Electronics in Tokyo and China. Siemens China told a Southern Metropolis Daily reporter yesterday, “We have filed a lawsuit with a Chinese court over this matter and hope to see results within the next year.”
不过，有分析认为，此次专利诉讼另有深意———欧司朗是全球仅次于飞利浦的第二大照明设备制造商，是西门子的全资子公司。西门子官方曾对外称，旗下欧司朗暂定于今年9月进行首次公开募股，将出售略高于50%的股权。Some analysts, however, believe the litigation has another purpose. Osram is the world's second-largest lighting equipment manufacturer after Philips and is wholly owned by Siemens. Siemens previously said that Osram's initial public offering was provisionally scheduled for September this year, with slightly more than 50% of its shares to be sold.
分析认为，西门子此举意图在欧司朗9月的首次公开募股之前提升该公司的市值。分析师估计，欧司朗的市值约73亿至87亿美元。Analysts suggest that the action is intended to increase Osram's market value ahead of its September IPO. They estimate the company's value at approximately US$7.3 billion–8.7 billion.
